Charlotte Flair Interrupts Asuka Being Presented New WWE Women’s Title
Charlotte Flair made her return to Smackdown while Asuka was receiving the new WWE Women’s Championship.
The Raw Women’s Championship is a thing of the past. On the June 9th edition of WWE Smackdown, WWE Official Adam Pearce presented Asuka with the brand new WWE Women’s Championship. Asuka will now carry that title while giving up the Raw Women’s Title.
The actual title says WWE Women’s Undisputed Championship on it although the company has yet to call it an Undisputed Title. They are calling it the new WWE Women’s Championship for now.
A reason for the change is because Asuka was holding the Raw Women’s Title while she was on Smackdown. That left fans confused because there was no title swap between Asuka and the Smackdown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, who is on Raw.
During Asuka’s championship presentation, former 14-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair made her return for the first time since losing the Smackdown Women’s Title to Rhea Ripley in a WrestleMania 39 classic match.
While the fans were chanting “WOO” for her, Charlotte Flair had gold in mind by making it known that she wanted a shot at Asuka’s new WWE Women’s Title.
Asuka would go on to accept the challenge from Flair. That would lead to WWE announcing that Asuka will defend the WWE Women’s Title against Charlotte Flair on the June 30th edition of Smackdown in London, England.

In addition to Charlotte Flair challenging Asuka on June 30th, former Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair made it clear that she wants her rematch. Pearce agreed, but there isn’t an official ruling yet.
There’s no word yet on if Rhea Ripley will be presented with a new WWE Women’s World Title on Raw similar to Asuka’s presentation.
