The Change Bryan Danielson Would Make If He Got Back In The Ring

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson has explained what would have to change if he ever got back in the ring.

The last time wrestling fans saw Bryan Danielson compete in the ring was back at WrestleDream in October 2024, when he lost his AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley. After the bout, Moxley and his Death Riders sent Danielson into retirement in vicious fashion.

It took almost a year for Danielson to return to TV, and he’s now settled into his new role as part of the commentary team on Dynamite. Although, the American Dragon kept a trick up his sleeve to try and help Darby Allin defeat Jon Moxley in a coffin match at All Out.

Bryan Danielson Would Need To Change In-Ring Style

Speaking in a new interview with Wide World Of Sports, Bryan Danielson discussed his thoughts on an eventual return to the ring and explained he’d have to make some major changes if he ever wrestled again:

It’s interesting, because you never say never – but there’s not an appeal to me to go out there and do that type of match that I did with Swerve Strickland. Sure, there’s the part when I’m watching it, I get super excited and think I would love to get back in there – but then it’s like, what are you talking about? My body physically can’t do some of those things anymore.

If I’m going to do it, it can’t be at the scale that I did it before. If I tried to do some of the things I did in my last year with AEW right now, I don’t think I’d be able to go back and hold my kids. Anything that I would do moving forward has to be with that in mind, because that is now my number one priority. Stay healthy, be at home and play with my kids and coach my son’s tee-ball team.

Bryan Danielson has also explained why he’s much more content with his retirement now than he was when he was forced out of the ring by WWE.
