Champion Wants To Crush John Cena’s WWE Dreams

John Cena WWE

As he prepares to end his career, everyone wants a piece of John Cena.

With every passing week, the end of John Cena’s career comes a little bit closer, and the opportunity to share the ring with him one more time continues to decrease. This means that every match the legend does compete in takes on extra significance.

At time of publishing, Cena’s next match will be inside the Elimination Chamber where he’s looking to earn a shot at Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. However, the company’s other World Champion Gunther also has his eye on a showdown with the veteran.

Gunther Would Enjoy Crushing John Cena

During an interview with the Daily Mail, Gunther discussed WWE’s upcoming European tour and potentially sharing the ring with Cena at some point during his retirement tour.

“It’s the last chance to get in the ring with him, so if that ever becomes a possibility, I would definitely take that. John Cena is obviously one of the wrestlers, you can put him onto Mount Rushmore. If I get the chance, I would definitely like to do that. Let’s see how it plays out.

Maybe I can end up as his last chance to win a championship at some point in that year, and I can be the one that crushes all those dreams. That would be very enjoyable.”

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that Gunther will face Seth Rollins in Germany on March 15 and 16 inside a Steel Cage, before wrestling CM Punk on March 29. The match against Punk will take place in Gunther’s hometown of Vienna, Austria.

The World Heavyweight Champion will then go on to defend the championship against Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41.

On the same European tour, John Cena will appear on three episodes of Raw, on March 17, 24, and 31. The tapings will be held in Brussels, Glasgow, and London respectively.
