Current Champion Fires Back At Shocking WWE Treason Accusations
The WWE NXT-TNA rivalry is heating up, and one superstar is being accused of treason.
At the TNA Victory Road PLE in Edmonton, the Knockouts Champion Ash By Elegance had to give up her title due to reasons yet to be revealed.
A battle royal took place, which saw WWE NXT superstar Kelani Jordan make it to the end, along with TNA’s Lei Yǐng Lee. Jordan beat Lee in a match to win the vacant Knockout Title, which means Jordan is the second NXT superstar to hold the Knockouts Title this year since Jacy Jayne won it earlier in the year.
On the September 30th episode of WWE NXT, the teams were selected for the Men’s and Women’s 4-on-4 Survivor Series elimination-style matches, which will take place on the NXT-TNA Showdown episode on October 7th.
In a move that surprised a lot of people, TNA’s Director of Authority Santino Marella named Kelani Jordan as his team’s captain even though she’s an NXT wrestler. Jorda picked The IInspiration’s Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee, and Mara Sade as her teammates against NXT’s Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker & Lola Vice.
Kelani Jordan Tries To Explain Her Position In WWE NXT-TNA Rivalry
The TNA Knockouts Champion, Kelani Jordan, appeared on Busted Open Radio this week to address the confusing situation she is in during the NXT/TNA Showdown storyline.
“So Tuesday, we got people calling me a traitor on the ‘NXT’ side, but this time, the TNA people had my back.
But at the end of the day, I’m the champion. I carry this on my shoulder and my responsibility goes to being a champion, being a captain, leading my team to success. So yes, I’m an ‘NXT’ superstar and it’s always going to be in my heart, but right now, I’m a champion at TNA.”
Jordan went on to summarize it by mentioning that some people think she’s a traitor for being on the TNA team instead of being on the NXT side.
“Because I got TNA people, hopefully they can trust me, and I got my ‘NXT’ people saying I’m a traitor, not understanding I was picked as captain, so what would anyone else do?”
The lineup for NXT-TNA Showdown on October 7th looks like this:
– Survivor Series Elimination NXT vs. TNA Men’s Match: Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans & Myles Borne vs. Mike Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Moose & Leon Slater
– Survivor Series Elimination NXT vs. TNA Women’s Match: Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker & Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan, The IInspiration’s Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee, and Mara Sade
– Winner Take All NXT vs. TNA Tag Team Championship Match: Darkstate’s Osiris Griffin & Dion Lennox vs. The Hardys – Matt & Jeff Hardy
– NXT North American Championship Match: Ethan Page vs. Mustafa Ali
