Cash Wheeler Says He Suffered Nerve Damage After Gruesome Injury
FTR and The Pinnacle’s Cash Wheeler has provided more information about the grizzly injury he suffered during a match with Santana and Ortiz at Fight For The Fallen.
As a key part of The Pinnacle FTR – Wheeler and Dax Harwood – have stood shoulder to shoulder with MJF, Wardlow, Shawn Spears, and the legendary Tully Blanchard throughout the group’s bloody battles with Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle. A victory for The Pinnacle at Blood and Guts was evened up at Double Or Nothing when Inner Circle defeated the group in the Stadium Stampede.
Since then feuds have splintered off and as the group’s two recognised tag teams, FTR and Santana and Ortiz looked to take each other apart in their quest for dominance. At Fight For The Fallen at the end of July the two teams squared off with FTR taking the victory but the match was overshadowed by a horrific injury suffered by Cash Wheeler.
During the match, Wheeler’s arm got caught on a hook attached to the ring post and caused a severe laceration in his wrist. While Harwood, Santana, and Ortiz sought to somehow finish the match, Wheeler was seeking immediate medical attention from the ringside doctor.
Now taking to social media, Wheeler has given an update on his status, as well as including some very graphic photos of the injury:
“Graphic Images: August 28th I had a hook stab into my arm and rip it open. For almost a month I’ve been dealing with loss of grip strength, loss of feeling/nerve damage, and wondering if this is even worth it anymore. If this is the end, we’re taking a pound of flesh with us.”
Cash Wheeler appeared for the first time on AEW Dynamite since the injury alongside Dax Harwood in a pre-taped promo where they addressed their future in AEW.
