Bully Ray Weighs In On WWE Hall Of Fame Significance

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray recently shared his unique perspective on the prestigious WWE Hall of Fame induction, revealing that his acceptance of the honour in 2018 was primarily motivated by his tag team partner, D-Von Dudley.

Speaking on “Busted Open Radio,” Bully Ray offered insights into his personal views on recognition in professional wrestling.

I was inducted into the Hall of Fame – or I accepted my induction into the Hall of Fame more for D-Von than myself. I don’t have children. I wanted to make sure that D-Von’s children were able to see him get inducted.

The multi-time tag team champion shared his belief that fan reaction is the ultimate form of recognition in the industry, suggesting that audience response and their willingness to invest in seeing talent perform are the true measures of success in wrestling.

The cheering of the fans, the booing of the fans, is the only acknowledgement I have ever needed.

Bully Ray also highlighted a unique aspect of The Dudley Boyz’ Hall of Fame induction. He revealed that they were the only inductees to call up other wrestlers during their ceremony, specifically mentioning The Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian.

We told Vince to his face that it’s one of the things that we [were going to say] – it wasn’t negotiable. Because we’re not going to sit there and just be selfish about the situation.

This unconventional approach to their induction underscores The Dudley Boyz’ commitment to acknowledging their peers and the collaborative nature of their success in the wrestling industry.
