Bubba Ray Dudley Set For First WWE Match In 8 Years

Bubba Ray Dudley made his presence felt at Halloween Havoc and now he’s set for his first WWE match in years in very familiar surroundings.

Trick Williams faced an uphill battle to hang on to his NXT Championship as he clashed with Ethan Page at Halloween Havoc in a Devil’s Playground match.

Williams defeated Page to hang on to his gold but the night was far from done. Fresh off his success in an ambulance match against Andre Chase, Ridge Holland laid out Williams with Ethan Page joining Holland in a double team on the NXT Champion.

However, help was on hand in the unlikely form of WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley who attacked both Holland and Page to let the champion stand tall.

On the 29th of October edition of NXT, Trick Williams asked Bubba Ray Dudley to come to the ring to thank him for his help and to ask the WWE Hall of Famer to team with him in the old ECW Arena to face Ethan Page and Ridge Holland. Although excited by the prospect Dudley turned down the offer as he did not want to take the place of someone on the NXT roster.

However, later in the night Ethan Page and Ridge Holland were in the ring with Holland noting that Dudley made the best decision of his life by turning down a match. That brought out Bubba Ray Dudley once again with Holland berating him and ECW before Dudley decked him with a punch.

Page and Holland attacked Dudley before NXT Champion Trick Williams made the save and the tag team match was later made official meaning that Bubba Ray Dudley will be competing in his first WWE match since SummerSlam 2016.

Bubba Ray Dudley won’t be the only ECW alumni on hand in the promotion’s famous old arena as one former ECW icon will make their return to WWE for the first time in nearly 20 years.
