Bryan Danielson’s WrestleDream AEW Title Challenger Confirmed
Bryan Danielson has plenty of scores to settle but now he knows who he’ll be defending his AEW World Championship against at WrestleDream.
Bryan Danielson captured the AEW World Championship for the first time in his career at All In when he defeated Swerve Strickland for the gold.
Just two weeks later, he faced his first title defence at All Out where he retained the gold against Jack Perry but that was just the beginning of his problems.
After that bout, Danielson was shockingly attacked by the Blackpool Combat Club as Jon Moxley tried to suffocate him with a plastic bag. But Moxley’s madness was not without a method.
For weeks, Moxley had been looking to talk to Darby Allin – a man with a guaranteed shot at the AEW World Title – and eventually talking Allin into a match with that world title match on the line.
Jon Moxley Seals Date With Bryan Danielson
At Dynamite Grand Slam, Jon Moxley and Darby Allin both went to their violent extremes in their quest to win the bout but in the end, it was Moxley who captured the victory and he will now face Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship in Danielson’s home state of Washington at WrestleDream on October 12th.
Bryan Danielson has made clear that his full-time career will end when loses his gold so it could well be down to his former partner to be the one to send the American Dragon into semi-retirement.
No matter who wins that bout, they will have to contend with the looming threat of Christian Cage who again threatened to cash in his own AEW Title shot after Bryan Danielson defeated Nigel McGuinness to open the Grand Slam show.
