Bryan Danielson Admits WWE WrestleMania 30 Win “Doesn’t Mean That Much”

Bryan Danielson

According to Bryan Danielson, his finest WWE moment wasn’t as special as fans might believe.

Through the second half of 2013 and into 2014, Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) found himself at war with Triple H and The Authority.

The faction repeatedly blocked Danielson’s path to the World Championship, and the storyline leaned into real-life fan claims that WWE bosses, and the likes of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, were holding Danielson down.

Things reached a major crossroads on the March 10, 2024, edition of Raw, where Danielson took over the show and refused to leave the ring until Triple H agreed to a match at WrestleMania 30. The Game eventually gave in, with the added stipulation that if Danielson won, he’d be put into the World Championship match in the main event.

Come the big night, Danielson beat Triple H before seeing off Randy Orton and Batista to become the World Champion. The match is remembered as one of the most popular WWE victories in history, as the beloved star finally beat the odds.

Bryan Danielson Looks Back on WrestleMania 30

During a new interview with Sun Sport, Danielson reflected on his big win, but admitted that it doesn’t mean all that much to him anymore.

“I main evented WrestleMania 30 with WWE. And honestly, it doesn’t mean that much to me.

My sister and my niece got to come into the ring, right? But I was about to marry my wife the following Friday, and they wouldn’t let her come down to the ring. They didn’t want her to be in the thing. And then on top of that, it wasn’t just that — it was like, I was going through a ton of neck pain and all these other things.

So these things that seem like cool moments to a viewer, there’s all this other stuff going on in a wrestler’s life or in a performer’s life that could make that moment not as valuable to them as it is to the people viewing.”

Danielson went on to reiterate that his match with Swerve Strickland at All In 2024 was the one that meant the most. On a crazy night at Wembley Stadium, Danielson won the AEW World Championship before celebrating with his wife and children in the ring.

Despite his recent cameo at All In 2025 to help take out the Death Riders, Bryan Danielson is adamant that he’s “not back” as an active wrestler. The star hasn’t wrestled since losing to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream in October 2024.

Although he hasn’t totally closed the door on wrestling again, the American Dragon has admitted that he’s at peace with never competing again as he continues to deal with a serious neck injury.
