Bryan Danielson To Wrestle Final Match On AEW TV
The end is near for Bryan Danielson.
Heading into AEW All In, Bryan Danielson promised to retire if he couldn’t beat Swerve Strickland for the World Championship. However, fighting on a wave of emotion and adrenaline, Danielson secured a famous victory to extend his career.
Now in possession of the World Title, Danielson announced that he’ll continue wrestling on a full-time basis until he loses the championship.
Following successful defences against Jack Perry and Kazuchika Okada, Danielson now faces the biggest threat to his title reign in the form of Jon Moxley. The match is set to take place at WrestleDream on October 12th in Danielson’s home state of Washington. In the eyes of many, it will be here where the veteran ends his full-time career.
Meanwhile, a fellow AEW star has suggested Danielson is on the verge of retirement.
Bryan Danielson’s Career Is Almost Over
During a new interview with Rick Ucchino for Sports Illustrated, Claudio Castagnoli gave another hint about Danielson’s future. The Swiss star suggested that Danielson’s match alongside Wheeler Yuta against PAC and himself will likely be his last on national television.
“If you’re a fan of Bryan Danielson you definitely want to tune in because it, let’s be honest, will most likely be his last match on national TV.
It’s gonna be very emotional. I was in Bryan’s last match before, when he was forced to retire. It was a tag match as well, and I was in it. It was in London, England.
This, I think, will be on a little bit different terms. I mean, obviously like I said, it’s gonna be very emotional if that’s the last time I’m going to be standing across the ring from Bryan. It’s gonna be special.”
Elsewhere, Willow Nightingale is set to meet Britt Baker with the winner going on to challenge AEW Women’s Champion Mariah May at WrestleDream. Mercedes Mone will also be in action, putting her TBS and NJPW Strong Women’s Titles on the line against Emi Sakura.
