Why Bryan Danielson Won’t Be Wrestling Until AEW All In

Bryan Danielson’s days as an in-ring wrestler are numbered and now it seems he’s been told he’s not to compete until All In.

Bryan Danielson has been part of the AEW roster for almost three years but during that time he has not held any gold in the company. But that could all change at All In.

The American Dragon won the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and that means he will challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at All In on August 25th. But for fans of Danielson, it seems they won’t get to see him in the ring before that match takes place.

Bryan Danielson Told To Sit Out Until All In

Speaking in an extended interview with Renee Paquette, Bryan Danielson admitted AEW’s Doc Sampson doesn’t want him competing for his title shot at Wembley:

Doc Sampson doesn’t want me to wrestle until Wembley, and that’s actually the harder part. It’s the part like, ‘What do you mean? I’m here in Nashville. Can’t I…? That sort of thing.

Danielson was then asked about his current condition and admitted his neck isn’t holding up well and said the doctor has warned him that it’s currently fixable but has cautioned him to keep it that way:

My neck isn’t great [laughs]. So it’s weird because this feels like the biggest match of my career, and there’s this war going on between my mind and my body of what I feel like I can do and what my body is telling that I probably shouldn’t do. Even when I talk to Brie and the family, it’s like, ‘Well, I want to do this,’ and she’s saying, ‘But what about your neck? What about this?’

Even talking to Doc Sampson, I’m like ‘I gotta go hard, I gotta do this.’ He’s like, ‘Right now, your neck is fixable. You gotta make sure that it stays fixable.’ So I’m gonna go out there, I’m gonna do my best, and just try to enjoy the moment. I mean, Wembley Stadium. How awesome?

In the same interview, Bryan Danielson revealed when his AEW wrestling contract ends as he gets ready to wind down his in-ring career.
