Bryan Danielson Finally Returns In Surprise AEW Match
Bryan Danielson has competed in his first AEW match in 8 months following a shock return in his home state, but fans at home might not see it.
Going into 2024, it was well known that it would be the final year of Bryan Danielson’s career as an active wrestler. Danielson conducted numerous interviews, making it clear that he planned to retire, as his AEW contract, which he had signed three years earlier, was set to expire.
Nobody could have predicted how his time in the company would come to an end, however. Shortly after winning the AEW World Championship, the Blackpool Combat Club turned on Danielson with a vicious attack. That all led to Jon Moxley defeating Danielson for the AEW World Title and apparently ending his in-ring career.
After AEW Grand Slam Mexico went off the air, Blue Panther wrestled Lee Moriarty in a match taped for ROH x CMLL Global Wars. After the bout, Moriarty, The Infantry, and Shane Taylor attacked Panther before Bryan Danielson’s music hit, and he sent some luchadors to save the day for Blue Panther. Danielson then delivered a Busaiku Knee before hugging it out with Blue Panther in the ring. At the end of the segment, Final Countdown played to the delight of the fans.
Now, Danielson has taken things one step further as he competes in his first AEW match since losing to Moxley.
Bryan Danielson Wins In AEW Return
After the June 25th edition of Dynamite in Kent, Washington, AEW taped Collision to air on June 26th. After that show was apparently over, Max Caster issued his usual open challenge, but this time it was answered by Bryan Danielson. Danielson picked up the win over Caster in 8 seconds.
It remains to be seen if Bryan Danielson will be back in action regularly for AEW or if he makes his presence felt at All In Texas, where Jon Moxley puts his AEW World Championship on the line against Hangman Adam Page.
