Bryan Danielson Has Nothing Left On Wrestling Bucket List
Bryan Danielson is content.
On October 12, 2024, Bryan Danielson wrestled what might have been his final match. By the time he was choked out by Jon Moxley as he lost the World Championship, Danielson already knew his full-time career was over, but there’s a growing possibility he’ll never return to action.
Since that famous October night, Danielson has remained with AEW, becoming a key part of Tony Khan’s backstage team.
During an interview back in July, Bryan Danielson admitted he was unsure whether he could even complete his last match given the amount of pain he was in at the time. The star had previously revealed that he damaged his neck while wrestling Will Ospreay at Dynasty six months earlier. As a result, he struggled with losing feeling in his arms until he retired.
Bryan Danielson Has Done It All
In a new interview with theaminshow, Danielson looked back on his career and said that he’s grateful to still be involved with AEW. When asked whether there was anything left on his wrestling wishlist, the American Dragon said that he was lucky enough to do everything he ever wanted and that changed his mindset as he headed into retirement.
“There’s not a single thing. I’ve been very fortunate in my career to have some incredible moments and all that kind of stuff. And I think when I was forced to retire before, I wasn’t ready to be done.
With the last six months of my wrestling career, being in as much pain as I was, that kind of put me in this thing of like, ‘Okay, you know what? I think I’m ready to be done.’ And now I have—like when I was forced to retire before, I was married, but we didn’t have kids yet, right? And so it’s like, you go home and you have that full parenting life and all that kind of stuff. It’s a whole other thing, right?
So yeah, I’m very fulfilled by my career. I’m very fulfilled by my life right now. And I get to stay involved in professional wrestling, which is something that I still love to this day.”
Despite getting physically involved at All In, Bryan Danielson later denied that he was “back.” The star added that he was cleared for some of his spots in the match, but not others, joking that Doc Sampson thought he was an “idiot.”
The former AEW World Champion had previously stated that he’s comfortable with never wrestling again, despite initally wanting to continue competing part-time following WrestleDream.
