Bryan Danielson Pursuing New Career Amid AEW TV Absence
Bryan Danielson stepped away from full-time wrestling following AEW WrestleDream in October 2024, and he’s been largely absent from television since.
While the former AEW World Champion has made occasional non-televised appearances, Danielson has shifted his focus to family and service during his time away from the ring.
Bryan Danielson Training To Become A Firefighter
During a stage show at Starrcast Texas 2025 over AEW All In weekend, The American Dragon offered insight into what he’s been doing while off television. He revealed that he is currently training to become a volunteer firefighter. His motivation is rooted in a desire to give back to his community and provide real help where it’s needed most.
So one of the things in our area that needs help is the forest fires, and so, one of my things to provide service to my community is training to be a volunteer firefighter… I’m looking at how I can be of service to my community and where I can feel like I’m really doing something with my life that’s productive and has meaning, you know? Those are the kind of things I’m looking for,” said Bryan Danielson. [H/T Fightful]
This heartfelt goal aligns with Danielson’s well-known values. Throughout his wrestling career, he’s been vocal about living with purpose, caring for the environment, and prioritizing his family. Stepping away from wrestling to focus on meaningful, real-world impact is a natural progression for someone of Bryan Danielson’s mindset.
Though his in-ring future remains uncertain, the wrestling legend hasn’t fully disappeared. He made an unannounced return during the AEW All In Texas main event to assist Hangman Adam Page in defeating Jon Moxley in a violent Texas Death Match. The surprise moment reminded fans that Danielson still has a presence in AEW, even if he’s not currently competing.
