Bryan Danielson Admits His Neck Is “Trashed” But He Feels Invincible
Bryan Danielson continues to worry fans ahead of AEW All In.
August 25th could go down in history as the final time that Bryan Danielson ever stepped into the ring as a professional wrestler. At All In at Wembley Stadium, Danielson will challenge Swerve Strickland for the World Championship after vowing to retire if he can’t claim the title.
To add to the tension, the American Dragon has repeatedly stated he needs surgery on his neck, admitting more than once his body is broken.
During a new interview with Chris Mueller for Bleacher Report, Danielson said that his neck is “trashed,” reiterating that he’ll need surgery. But despite the problem, the star said he feels invincible once he’s in the ring so he’s not worried.
“My neck is trashed,” he said with a smile. “But other than that, I feel good. One of the things that I’m good at is experiencing pain and it not necessarily affecting me much. It doesn’t really affect my mental space.
“The only thing that it does kind of affect is my parenting because our son is four and wild. He loves jumping on my back and jumping on my neck, and I’m like, ‘Argh, stop!'” he joked.
“It affects my training and that sort of thing. But other than that, I feel good. The odds are, by the end of the year, I’m probably going to have to get neck surgery or whatever it is. But right now, it feels manageable. And when I get out and wrestle, I feel invincible. So that’s not even a concern.”
In storyline, Will Ospreay recently took the blame for Danielson’s neck issues after hitting his rival with a Tiger Driver 91 back at Dynasty. Since then, Ospreay has avoided hitting the move, despite his desire to destroy MJF. However, on August 21st in Cardiff, Danielson told Ospeay to “do it” when he gets the chance.
Bryan Danielson Is A Free Agent
During a recent interview, Bryan Danielson surprised fans by revealing he’s not under contract with AEW.
While it’s perhaps not surprising Danielson is no longer signed to a talent contract, he’s not signed to any kind of deal. This is despite being involved with creative alongside Tony Khan, and working on the disciplinary committee.
