Bryan Danielson May Never Wrestle Again
Fans might have seen Bryan Danielson wrestle for the last time.
At AEW WreslteDream, Bryan Danielson brought down the curtain on his full-time wrestling career. However, the manner in which the end came surprised fans and even commentator Nigel McGuinness.
In the minutes after losing the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley, Danielson was betrayed by Wheeler Yuta and left the arena on a stretcher after being suffocated by his one-time protege.
Danielson had initially announced his intention to end his full-time career prior to his match with Swerve Strickland at All In. However, after he captured the World Title, the star vowed to continue until he lost the gold.
Over the last 12 months, Danielson has been open about wanting to step away from the ring, although he routinely stated that he’d like to continue wrestling. Despite this, it seems things are no longer quite as clear-cut.
No Plans For Bryan Danielson Comeback
Responding to a question in a recent Q&A, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp noted that there are no firm plans for Danielson to wrestle again. Sapp added that while that doesn’t mean the door is closed, an in-ring return isn’t his priority. Instead, he’s focusing on his family, and resolving his well-documented neck issues.
Danielson does want to return in some capacity but as Sapp explained “the severity of his physical situation became much more clear as he finished up.”
Back in August, Bryan Danielson admitted that he needed neck surgery, and more recently shared that he lost strength in his legs during his match with Kazuchika Okada. It was reported after WrestleDream that Danielson’s comments about his health were genuine and not for a storyline.
