Bryan Danielson Addresses What Makes AEW World Title So Unique

Bryan Danielson AEW World Title

Bryan Danielson is enjoying his time as the AEW World Champion even though it’s a difficult title to pack.

For the past 25 years, Bryan Danielson has been recognized as one of the greatest professional wrestlers alive. Some people might go as far as to say that Danielson is perhaps the greatest pro wrestler of his generation.

At AEW All In London in Wembley Stadium, Bryan Danielson added to his legacy by becoming the AEW World Champion for the first time in a match where Swerve Strickland put up the title while Bryan put his career on the line.

It’s certainly not the first time that Danielson has been a World Champion since he was the Ring of Honor World Champion and a five-time World Champion in WWE during his decade-long run in that company.

Whenever Bryan Danielson loses the AEW World Title, he plans to retire as a full time wrestler and will likely have neck surgery as well.

While talking to Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Danielson revealed an interesting fact about the AEW World TItle – it’s the heaviest title he has ever held in his legendary career as a pro wrestler.

“Maybe I’m just not as strong as I was the last time I was champion, but the AEW world championship, the belt itself, is the heaviest belt I’ve ever had.”

“Do I wear it around my waist? Then that’s funny getting into the ring. Put it over my shoulder? Maybe. And don’t even get me started about packing with it. I’m still figuring it out–it’s been a while since I was in this spot. But I remind myself if that’s your biggest problem, you’re living a blessed life.”

Bryan Danielson Facing Former Rival Nigel McGuinness At AEW Grand Slam

The September 25th episode of AEW Dynamite will be the annual “Grand Slam” show taking place at the world-famous Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City. Originally, Danielson was supposed to defend the AEW World Title against Royal Rampage winner Darby Allin. However, that match changed when Jon Moxley convinced Allin to put his AEW World Title shot on the line in a match at Grand Slam. Whoever wins that Moxley-Allin match will get the next AEW World Title match against Bryan Danielson.

As for Bryan Danielson, he’ll face a familiar foe at Dynamite Grand Slam when he steps into the ring with former ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness. It will be their first match together in 15 years since McGuinness retired over a decade ago but made his return at the All In PPV in his home country of England.
