Bryan Danielson Injury From AEW Dynamite Requires Surgery

Bryan Danielson AEW

Bryan Danielson is dealing with an injury following a very physical main event match on AEW Dynamite.

In the main event of the October 25th episode of AEW Dynamite, the Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli & Bryan Danielson teamed up against AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy and top NJPW star/Japanese wrestling legend Kazuchika Okada.

Those four top stars had a tremendous match that was full of exciting action the whole way. There were plenty of nearfalls throughout the match. Toward the finish, Danielson took an Orange Punch from Cassidy and Okada did a Rainmaker clothesline. Bryan wasn’t the legal man at the time. Claudio ended up launching Cassidy into the air and hitting an uppercut for the pinfall win.

The ending of the show was awkward because Danielson was down on the mat holding his face. AEW’s Dr. Sampson was checking on him while members of the Blackpool Combat Club went to ringside along with members of Chaos/Best Friends as they had an awkward staredown to end the show.

As it turns out, Bryan Danielson suffered a broken orbital bone, which means a facial injury. Claudio Castagnoli revealed it in a promo on AEW Collision on Saturday night. Announcer Tony Schiavone said that Bryan will likely be out for most of the rest of this year.

It was confirmed by PWInsider that Bryan Danielson’s broken orbital bone is legit and not a storyline.

Perhaps the Danielson-Okada rivalry is cursed in some way since the last time they were in a match at Forbidden Door in June, Bryan had surgery after that match as well. That match saw Bryan suffer a broken right arm, but he was able to come back from it in about two months.

Claudio Castagnoli will look to avenge Bryan Danielson’s injury on AEW Dynamite

This coming Wednesday, November 1st on AEW Dynamite, Claudio Castagnoli will be out for revenge when he challenges Orange Cassidy for the AEW International Title. Claudio did a promo about it on Collision where he issued warnings to both Cassidy and Okada.

“A broken orbital bone from either an Orange Punch or a Rainmaker. I don’t know, and I don’t care because I’m going to make both of you pay for what you’ve done for my friend. Okada, be it in the Unites States or Japan, I am coming for you. I will find you and I will make you pay.

“Orange, you and me on Wednesday on Dynamite for your International Championship. I know what I’m going to do and what I’m capable of and it frightens me. You hurt one of the Blackpool Combat Club and now I’m going to hurt you. See you on Wednesday. Good luck.”

Currently, none of the four members of the Blackpool Cobat Club have a title in AEW, so Claudio is looking to bring some gold back to the group.
