Bryan Danielson Expected To Wrestle Again Despite Injury Concerns

Bryan Danielson

There’s a growing feeling that Bryan Danielson will wrestle again.

At WrestleDream in October 2024, Bryan Danielson was beaten in brutal fashion by Jon Moxley. At the time, the American Dragon confirmed that the match was his last as a full-time performer, but was adamant he would wrestle again.

But, in an interview in April, Brian Danielson admitted his neck is “pretty wrecked,” before revealing he suffered a “pretty bad” neck injury against Will Ospreay at Dynasty earlier in 2024. The star added that his health is his most important priority, and there comes a time when “enough is enough.”

Many fans took that to mean that Danielson wouldn’t be getting back in the ring at all, despite his earlier desire to do so.

However, things might not be that cut and dried.

AEW Stars Expect Bryan Danielson Comeback

After AEW Grand Slam Mexico, a match between Blue Panther and Lee Moriarty was taped for ROH x CMLL Global Wars. In the moments after the match, Moriarty, The Patriarchy, and Shane Taylor attacked the Mexican legend, but Bryan Danielson ran in to make the save.

The segment ended with Danielson and Panther standing tall as The Final Countdown played in the arena.

The appearance was Danielson’s first physical action since that loss to Jon Moxley in October 2024 and sparked speculation online that a comeback might not be impossible.

Interestingly, it’s now been reported by Fightful Select that multiple AEW talents believe Danielson will eventually wrestle again. Figures within AEW stated that things have been set up for Danielson to return, if he decides to. This includes Wheeler Yuta using several of his moves.

There’s no word on whether the legend has undergone the long-rumoured neck surgery, but he’s continued to work as a consultant for AEW since his last match.

The appearance to help Blue Panther was said to be “personally very important” to Danielson, and Shane Taylor Promotions was booked specifically for that spot.
