Bryan Danielson Didn’t Choose Upcoming Opponent
Bryan Danielson won’t headline AEW All Out.
By winning the AEW World Championship at All In, Bryan Danielson extended his full-time career after pledging to retire if he lost to Swerve Strickland. Since then, Danielson has promised that he’ll keep competing until he loses the World Title.
Next up for the champion is a date with Jack Perry at All Out on September 7th but despite the World Title being on the line, the match won’t be in the main event slot.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, the main event will instead be taken by the Cage Match between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page.
On another interesting note, although Danielson will have some say in who he wrestles as he winds down his full-time career, Perry was an “AEW call.”
What Next For Bryan Danielson?
While the American Dragon is a huge betting favourite to defeat Perry at All Out, he won’t hold the World Title forever, so who will get the honour of ending his career?
According to a different report, the man currently in pole position to beat Bryan Danielson and claim the World Championship is Darby Allin. The report from Dave Meltzer noted that Allin has been “strongly talked about” with a match rumoured for Grand Slam or WrestleDream.
The latter is due to take place in Washington, the home state of both Danielson and Allin. It’s long been believed that Danielson will end his full-time career at the event.
