Bryan Danielson Casts Doubt On In-Ring Future

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson will be at All In, but what will he be doing?

At WrestleDream, Bryan Danielson brought down the curtain on his full-time career in stunningly brutal style. After losing the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley, Danielson was suffocated with a plastic bag by Wheeler Yuta and left the arena on a stretcher.

For much of the year, Danielson has been open about his injury struggles, particularly the poor state of his neck. However, it was reported that the true extent of the damage only became apparent in the weeks before his match with Moxley.

In fact, speaking during an appearance in November, Bryan Danielson admitted he doesn’t know what’s going on with his neck, but said he feels like he has a “bobblehead.” It was then reiterated that he’ll need to undergo surgery.

Despite the problems, Danielson has previously remained adamant he’ll wrestle again, but it seems things aren’t that clear cut.

Bryan Danielson Unsure About In-Ring Future

During an appearance at the AEW All In Texas ticket on-sale party, Danielson hyped up the event while discussing his in-ring future. The American Dragon expressed his determination to be at the show but admitted he doesn’t know whether he’ll ever wrestle again.

“Now as for my participation at All In this year, I don’t know what that looks like. I don’t know if I’ll be able to wrestle at that point, I don’t know if I’ll be able to wrestle again, to be quite honest.

But there’s one thing that I can tell you for certain — I will be here. There is nothing that you could do to make me miss All In at Globe Life Field.

Like I said when I walked in, I got chills when I saw it. And when I remember All In last year at Wembley and then the first All In that broke so many records, I walked in there and I was like, ‘There is no way that I’m going to miss it.’

So whatever Tony Khan wants me to do, whether it’s — I could commentate with [Tony Schiavone], or even just helping backstage, I’m going to be there live to watch it because this is going to be incredible.”

To date, Jon Moxley has defended the World Title just once since beating Danielson at WrestleDream. This defence came at Full Gear where he demolished Orange Cassidy.
