Bryan Danielson Reveals When AEW Wrestling Contract Ends

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson has revealed when his wrestling contract with AEW comes to an end as he eyes retirement from being a full-time wrestler.

Bryan Danielson has not been shy about discussing the end of his full-time wrestling career as he looks to wind down his time in the ring. Despite that, The American Dragon finds himself challenging for the AEW World Championship at All In after he won the men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

AEW released an extended interview between Bryan Danielson and Renee Paquette on YouTube where Danielson was asked if it was true that his wrestling contract ended in August:

Yeah, yeah. That’s true. August 1st, actually. Next Thursday. My wrestling contract is up. Which also happens to be my son’s fourth birthday.

Bryan Danielson Not “MJF-ing” AEW

Danielson revealed he’s not trying to copy MJF by touting himself to the highest bidder and while he’s excited about the future, he’s keeping his sights set on Wembley Stadium:

So I’m not saying this. Tony talked about this in an interview, so I feel comfortable talking about it. I’m not MJF-ing this. I’m not trying to use my contract to be like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna get all the money. Somebody give me all the money.’ Yeah, my contract is up August 1st. When I signed this contract, me and Brie, we talked about how this would be the last wrestling contract I was gonna sign.

So yeah, part of me is wondering what life is like after this. Part of me is excited about that. But right now, even though Wembley is after this, I still have to focus on that. That’s gotta be kind of my focus. So yeah, it’s a wild time.

This means that Bryan Danielson could win the AEW World Title from Swerve Strickland after his full-time wrestling contract ends as they won’t clash until August 25th.

Tony Khan has stated that he wants to keep Bryan Danielson in AEW forever even after he’s hung up his boots on a full-time basis.
