Bryan Danielson Names AEW Star Who Could Defeat A Bear
Bryan Danielson has the answer to the biggest question in wrestling.
AEW might be where the best wrestle, but could those wrestlers beat a bear if push came to shove? If that question has been playing on your mind, then ponder no more, because Bryan Danielson has been putting in the research.
In a new interview with Downunder The Ring, Danielson gave his thoughts on Swerve Strickland, “Hangman” Adam Page, Kyle Fletcher, “Timeless” Toni Storm, Kenny Omega, and Mercedes Mone, and their ability to slay the beast.
While he unfortunately didn’t think much of the chances of Mone, Omega, or Fletcher, he thinks Toni Storm walks away with the win in dominant fashion.
Swerve Strickland: So, it depends on what kind of match it is. If it’s a straight match, the bear wins. If it’s a gimmick match, like a Hardcore Match, I swear, Swerve is the craziest Hardcore Match wrestler that I’ve ever seen. So, he would staple that bear in the tongue or something like that, and so, yeah, it depends on the style of match. You get a straight old wrestling match? I bet the bear wins. You get any shenanigans or that sort of thing? Swerve wins.
Hangman Page: I think Hangman has more experience with rounding up animals, so I think he does better in a straight match than Swerve.
Kyle Fletcher: He gets destroyed by a bear. I’m sorry, Australia. If all of you Sydney people love Kyle Fletcher because he’s from Sydney and all that. He’s also a beautiful man. I heard the word on the street is that Taylor Swift is very interested in Kyle Fletcher, even though she just got engaged, but that said, Kyle Fletcher could not defeat a bear.
Toni Storm: She could beat a bear. Straight one-on-one? She could beat a bear. No questions asked.
Kenny Omega: Given the state of Kenny Omega right now? Even [if he was healthy] still. I love Kenny Omega. Kenny is probably one of my favorite wrestlers to watch ever. I vote for the bear just because I can’t unthink of how bad his stomach is, and I just envisioned, as soon as you said it, a bear ripping open his stomach.
Mercedes Mone: I think a bear defeats her soundly. I was going to make a joke about the Beast Mortos, but I’ll just leave it at that.
While she’s been tipped to overcome a bear, it remains to be seen whether “Timeless” Toni Storm will be able to keep hold of the AEW Women’s World Championship. Storm is scheduled to make the next defence of her title at All Out against Kris Statlander, Jamie Hayter, and Thekla.
Bryan Danielson Had Big Plans For A WWE Star
During the same interview, Bryan Danielson detailed an interesting pitch from his WWE days involving Roman Reigns. In 2020, with the COVID-19 pandemic causing chaos across the world and in WWE, Danielson found himself working with the company’s creative team while spending time off television.
Despite this run being relatively short-lived, Danielson was determined to make an impact. This saw him pitch the main roster debut of Damian Priest in a segment with Roman Reigns to establish him as a star away from NXT.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Bryan Danielson has elected not to have neck surgery, meaning he won’t be returning to the ring any time soon. Instead, the former World Champion will now be a regular part of the commentary team for Dynamite.
Danielson made his official debut in the role on September 10 after working at the commentary desk at Forbidden Door.
