Bryan Danielson Assumes AEW Backstage Role After Full-Time Wrestling Retirement

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson continues his journey with AEW with a backstage role.

After officially retiring from full-time wrestling at AEW WrestleDream in October 2024, where he dropped the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson left fans wondering how involved he would remain with All Elite Wrestling.

While Danielson has continued to appear in non-wrestling segments and untelevised appearances, his official future with the company has remained unclear. Now, fans finally have some answers about his post-retirement role behind the scenes.

Bryan Danielson Reveals Consulting Role With AEW

Speaking during a panel at Starrcast Texas 2025, The American Dragon confirmed he has taken up a backstage position in AEW, although he admitted it’s more of a symbolic title than an active gig.

He stated that while he may not be contributing weekly to AEW’s creative process, he continues to support the brand from a distance, staying in tune with the shows and maintaining a backstage presence when needed.

“Yeah. I am officially a consultant. But I mean I don’t—I honestly don’t do much consulting. I haven’t had much of anything to do with creative in AEW for a while. But I think the AEW shows for the last several months have just been incredible. You know, I watch the product every week at home—both shows—and I just think that the people that are…the wrestlers, the people involved in the creative, everybody’s doing just such a great job,” Danielson stated. Even without lacing up his boots weekly, Bryan Danielson remains connected to the heart of AEW. He recently made an unexpected appearance at AEW All In Texas, where he helped Hangman Adam Page defeat Jon Moxley to win the AEW World Championship, proving that his influence on AEW continues to linger.
