Bryan Danielson Admits WWE Has Changed For The Better

Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson admits WWE changes have been positive.

When Bryan Danielson left WWE in 2021, the company looked vastly different from today. At the time Vince McMahon was still very much in charge, and his booking philosophy dominated the company.

However, in 2024, McMahon is gone and Triple H now holds creative control. This has seen a dramatic shift in how WWE is presented, with several stars finding success they perhaps wouldn’t have been able to achieve otherwise.

During a new interview with The Gorilla Position, Danielson was asked whether he had any second thoughts about joining AEW given the changes that have swept through WWE.

“No, not at all,” he stated. “No. I think how I view it is, obviously things have changed for the better there, substantially. How I view it is, one, I’ve had an incredible time doing what I’m doing. There are a lot of people who, and I think I’m one of these people, who prefer the style in AEW. That’s more wrestling focused as opposed to the drama focus. I like the idea that there is an alternative.

When I put thought into what I wanted to do as far as leaving WWE, I was never somebody who disliked WWE. I’ve tried not say anything bad about WWE because I really enjoyed my time there and I enjoyed the people that I worked with. People that are there are still my friends.

One of the things that I really wanted was to participate in this thing that makes the wrestling industry better for everybody involved. Having AEW, just the fact that AEW exists, is much better for all of us. I’m also preferential to the style. I like the style a little bit more.”

Bryan Danielson Gives Thoughts On Vince McMahon

During the same interview, Bryan Danielson discussed the ongoing sex trafficking lawsuit involving Vince McMahon and his father-in-law John Laurinaitis.

The star expressed empathy for those “victimized by people in power,” while refusing to comment on how his wife Brie, and her sister Nikki are handling the situation.

Danielson is due to return to action at All In where he’ll challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship.
