Bruce Prichard Says Vince McMahon Hasn’t Had Creative Input “Yet”
One of Vince McMahon’s closest confidants has confirmed that Vince doesn’t have that much power anymore.
With constant rumors and changes in understanding surrounding a potential sale of WWE, much scrutiny has been put on the company’s leadership. Specifically, on what role Vince McMahon has to play.
Although he has insisted that his only day-to-day work relates to said sale, some within the company and within the wrestling industry believe that Vince may be influencing other areas of the company as well.
Earlier, Shawn Michaels confirmed that Vince doesn’t hold any way over NXT’s creative direction. And now, someone close to Vince has confirmed that he doesn’t hold sway over the main roster either.
Speaking on The Press Box, Bruce Pritchard noted that Vince McMahon hasn’t had any influence over WWE’s creative…yet.
“He hasn’t yet. He made it to one TV and really had nothing to say other than, ‘great show, thank you guys.’ In that regard, he is busy working on the business end of things and has given us free rein on the creative end of things to handle it. I think we’ve done a pretty good job so far.”
Vince McMahon is scheduled to be at WrestleMania 39 this weekend. Whether that means he’ll make an on-camera appearance or just be backstage remains to be seen.
