Brock Lesnar’s WWE Run Could End With Injured Star’s Comeback
Brock Lesnar returned to WWE at SummerSlam on August 3 this past weekend. The Beast had been starved for two long years, and therefore, when he returned, he made John Cena his first target and feasted upon him with a devastating F5 in the middle of the ring.
The two-night WWE extravaganza also saw a top star suffer an injury in the main event of night one. Gunther and CM Punk squared off in a singles match where The Ring General landed face-first onto the Spanish announce table and busted open his nose, causing his face to turn crimson red.
On the August 4, 2025, episode of Monday Night RAW, commentator Michael Cole announced that the former World Heavyweight Champion had suffered a septal hematoma and orbital blowout fracture during the match and hence would be out of action indefinitely. According to the reports, this was an angle to write him off television to allow him to undergo a nose surgery. He was already dealing with a legitimate nose injury before SummerSlam.
Brock Lesnar Could Go Away if Gunther Comes Back
Stevie Richards offered a detailed analysis of Brock Lesnar’s return on the recent episode of The Stevie Richards Show. He also highlighted that Lesnar’s return came at a crucial moment when one of WWE’s biggest stars, Gunther, is going away for some time. He added WWE could’ve brought back The Beast to fill Gunther’s spot, and therefore, when The Ring General returns, Brock Lesnar will go on a hiatus again.
“Gunther’s going away. So, here comes Brock. Maybe when Gunther comes back, Brock goes away. You see, the revolving door of returns? So, I don’t know. They’re going to do whatever they want.” (8:25 onwards)
