A massive WWE legend has made his comeback to cost John Cena a title match.

The Leader of the Cenation kicked off tonight’s episode of SmackDown. He thanked the fans for cheering him, admitting that he was used to hearing the Chicago crowd chant against him.

The 17-time world champion praised the fans for not being afraid to cheer their beloved superstars, crediting them for bringing people back to the Stamford-based company.

Cena then revealed that it was his final appearance on SmackDown, recalling his main roster debut in the same city against Kurt Angle 23 years ago.

After thanking the fans again and telling them to enjoy the show, Cena was interrupted by the United States Champion Sami Zayn.

Zayn thanked Cena on behalf of the WWE locker room. He also thanked The Never Seen 17 for allowing him to make his main roster debut against him nearly a decade ago as he answered his U.S. Championship Open Challenge.

Brock Lesnar Takes Out John Cena On WWE SmackDown

The former Bloodline member told Cena that he would like to carry on the tradition and launch the Sami Zayn U.S. Title Open Challenge, an idea that Cena welcomed and gave his blessing to.

As the 48-year-old attempted to leave, Zayn asked him to stay, challenging him to one last United States Championship match on tonight’s episode of the blue brand. Cena accepted.

The two superstars went to war on SmackDown, with Cena having multiple near falls. During the match, the 17-time world champion paid homage to several superstars by using their finishers, including Kevin Owens, Kurt Angle, and CM Punk.

Meanwhile, Sami Zayn also fought back and even used John Cena’s Attitude Adjustment against the Leader of the Cenation, but failed to keep his opponent down.

The Match, however, ended with the shocking return of Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate initially returned at SummerSlam to take out Cena after the latter lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes. The Never Seen 17 later dared The Beast Incarnate to “come get some,” despite admitting that he was afraid of him.

On tonight’s SmackDown, Lesnar pulled out the referee, F5’ed Sami Zayn, and then delivered another two devastating F5s to Cena.
