Brock Lesnar Went Off-Script To Ruin Ex-WWE Star’s Royal Rumble Moment

Brock Lesnar

A former WWE star has revealed how Brock Lesnar ruined their Royal Rumble moment by going into business for himself.

The 2020 Royal Rumble saw one of the more unusual Rumble matches in history take place. WWE Champion Brock Lesnar entered the match at number one, and for over 26 minutes, he decimated the field, eliminating 13 stars in a row as he looked to go coast-to-coast and win the match. However, he was stopped in his tracks by Drew McIntyre, who eliminated Lesnar from the bout before he went on to win the whole thing.

The second entrant on that fateful night was Elias. Elias sang his way to the ring, but instead of getting all the way through his song as planned, Brock Lesnar charged the star, forcing him to abandon his moment in the spotlight.

Brock Lesnar Shoots On Ex-WWE Star

Speaking to Inside The Ropes, Elias revealed what exactly happened and why he was left disappointed by Brock Lesnar’s actions:

So I had this idea in my head, and I think if you go back and watch, you can probably hear it. I’m singing the song, I hit a line that makes fun of Paul Heyman, the crowd goes, ‘Ooh,’ and suddenly Brock just runs down the ramp. I’ve got my guitar strapped on, battery pack and all, and he’s charging at me full speed. I’m like, ‘Oh my…’ I probably said something I can’t repeat. I don’t know if the mic picked it up.

And by the grace of God, I ducked my head just as he swings, trying to take it off. I dump everything and just start running—like, legit sprinting away from Brock Lesnar. It’s like a bear chasing you. I slide into the ring, and he tackles me. He’s pounding my head, just fists raining down. I think I roll out of it somehow. Then he German suplexes me, grabs one of my guitars, smashes it across my back.

Then he picks me up, goes to throw me out of the ring, and says, ‘Thank you.’ Just tosses me out. I’m like, ‘Okay, I guess that just happened.’ I was really disappointed, honestly. That was supposed to be my Royal Rumble moment, and he just did his own thing. But at the same time, it turned into something memorable in its own way.

I remember the adrenaline rush—running for my life after he tried to take my head off. Looking back, if I could do it again, I would’ve just whacked him with the guitar, man.
