Why Brock Lesnar Forced Major WrestleMania Change Revealed

Brock Lesnar WrestleMania 35 Entrance

In 2019, Brock Lesnar defended his Universal Championship at WrestleMania against Seth Rollins and now a former writer in the company has revealed why Lesnar made a major change to the match and the show.

Seth Rollins booked his title match at WrestleMania 35 by winning the 2019 men’s Royal Rumble match ensuring that he’d once again come up against Brock Lesnar. Rollins escaped WrestleMania 31 with the WWE Title which was held by Lesnar when inserted himself into the main event also involving Roman Reigns by virtue of his Money In The Bank contract.

WrestleMania 35 is best remembered for being the first WrestleMania to feature women in the main event with Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, and Charlotte Flair doing battle over both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships. And with Brock Lesnar not being in the main event, The Beast Incarnate decided he wanted an early night.

Former WWE writer Dave Schilling revealed on social media that Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins was initially meant to be the semi-main event but that Lesnar got that changed at the last minute so he could “go home early.”

Interestingly at WrestleMania 36 and 38, Brock Lesnar was in the main event and he did not compete at WrestleMania 37 in 2021. It remains to be seen where Lesnar will fit into the WrestleMania 39 card when he takes on the giant Omos.
