Brock Lesnar Hated Life In WWE
Brock Lesnar never loved life on the road.
After rapidly climbing to the top of WWE within months of making his debut Brock Lesnar left the company behind a little under two years later. Despite being incredibly well paid for his work, and regarded as one of the biggest stars in the business, Lesnar had enough.
Although he briefly passed through NJPW, it would be eight years until Lesnar made his way back to WWE. Since then, the star has enjoyed a decidedly part-time schedule.
During a recent episode of his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash recalled travelling with a young Lesnar in the months after his debut on Raw. Nash revealed that despite only recently making his debut, Lesnar was already fed up with life as a wrestler.
“I remember I was driving, just me and him were driving and he’d been in the business, I mean, you know, he’d been on the main roster for maybe about a month, and me and Scott got cars and hotels. Brock was driving with me and Scott. We’re pulling up to the Nassau Coliseum. Scott and I would get two queen beds, and then we’d get him a king so it wouldn’t come out of his pocket to pay for a room.
We’ve been on the road for about a week. We were catching workouts and everything else. We pulled up underneath the arena. He just looked over at me and goes, ‘Hey, Nash. How long have you been doing this?’ I said, ‘I don’t know, man, 20-something years.’
He goes, ‘I’ve been doing this shit for a couple months. I fu**ing hate it.’ He hated it. He was just like, ‘I don’t get it, man. I don’t know how you guys drive 300 miles every fu**ing day, do this sh*t, get in the car, go to the gym and do it again, do it again, do it again, go home, wash your sh*t, come back and do it again, do it again, do it again.”
I said, ‘I can’t sing and I can’t dance, so I gotta do this sh*t’”
Brock Lesnar Isn’t In Control Of WWE Destiny
Brock Lesnar hasn’t appeared on WWE television since being defeated by Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023. The former World Champion had been scheduled to appear at the 2024 Royal Rumble, but all creative was dropped ahead of the event.
Shortly before the Rumble, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE. The lawsuit contained allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking, and although he wasn’t named directly, Lesnar was also implicated. It was reported that the “former UFC Champion and WWE Superstar” named in the filing was Lesnar.
The most recent report on Brock Lesnar’s status suggested a potential return won’t be down to him, instead, it will be a WWE call.
