Brock Lesnar’s Daughter Lifts Lid On Growing Up In His Shadow

Brock Lesnar Mya Lesnar

Brock Lesnar’s daughter wants to make a name for herself.

Mya Lesnar is bidding to land a spot at the Paris Olympic Games after excelling at the collegiate level for Colorado State University. The shot put star became the first woman in Colorado State history to become an indoor track and field national champion in March.

Despite notching up an impressive list of accolades in her young career, Lesnar remains in the shadow of her UFC and WWE star father. However, she’s determined to establish herself in her own right.

Speaking to 9NewsSports, Mya discussed getting advice from her father, and her desire to step out of his shadow.

It’s really not about my dad. He’s one of my biggest supporters but honestly, at the end of the day, I am here to make a name for myself. I think I’ve been in his shadow for so many years, which is cool I guess but honestly, to me, at the end of the day, what I want people to know is he’s dad to me. I honestly don’t look at him as this superstar of a person. Him just being in my corner and now me kind of being in the spotlight and him in my shadow a little bit, watching me, I think that’s super cool.

This is not really gonna sound good but, right after I won my NCAA Title, he was like, ‘Take it all in, enjoy it and then, you know, put it away and we move on’ and I honestly, at first I was like, ‘What do you mean? I have been literally dreaming about this day’ and it was such an incredible moment and it was, but then I kind of thought about it and I was like, you know what? That is kind of just how life happens.

You win some, you lose some and honestly, it’s important to recognize all the hard work that you have put in but, I think the biggest thing that he has taught me is do not let your trophies or anything that you’ve done change you as a person and so, I tried super, super hard to be successful but to also not have an ego or to not be grateful for the people that have come into my life or the things that I’ve done so, yeah, it sounds super cliché I guess but, I guess I just moved on and I’m ready for the next thing and that’s kind of how he’s always lived and yeah…

Where Is Brock Lesnar?

Brock Lesnar hasn’t appeared in a WWE ring since SummerSlam 2023 after his planned comeback at the Royal Rumble was scrapped. The former World Champion was removed from all creative plans after being implicated in the lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant. The lawsuit filed against WWE, Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis contains several allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault.

Although Lesnar wasn’t named directly, it’s been reported he’s the former UFC Champion and WWE star referenced in the suit.

In May it was reported Brock Lesnar will need to be cleared by WWE legal before he can return to action — something the company hasn’t ruled out.
