Brock Lesnar Renews Rivalry With Cody Rhodes On Raw

Brock Lesnar made his return to WWE’s Monday Night Raw to interrupt a Cody Rhodes promo and business picked up from there.

For the first time since he beat Cody Rhodes at Night of Champions on May 27th, Brock Lesnar was back on WWE television.

The rivalry between Lesnar and Rhodes has seen each man pick up a win. Cody beat Brock at Backlash on May 6th by countering a Kimura Lock with a pinfall that worked for the victory. Lesnar came back with a win at Night of Champions after “breaking” Cody’s left arm/wrist (it was just a storyline) going into their match. Lesnar applied the Kimura Lock and Cody passed out in the hold to give Lesnar the win.

Since the loss to Lesnar, Cody repeatedly called out his rival to come to fight him again. Finally, after more than a month away, Lesnar returned on the July 3rd edition of Raw.

Raw in Baltimore started with World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins making his entrance when he was interrupted by Cody Rhodes. While it appeared that they may rekindle their epic 2022 rivalry, Lesnar’s music hit after Cody said one word, so that set the American Nightmare off.

Cody Rhodes charged at Brock Lesnar in the aisle and the fight was on. They fought around the ringside area. When the fight got into the ring, Rollins left. Lesnar went for an F5, Cody pushed his way out of it and Cody jumped off the ropes leading to a Cody Cutter. Lesnar bailed at that point.

Later in the show, Cody did a brief interview. Cody welcomed back Brock and said we are not done yet. Cody mentioned that while Lesnar broke Cody’s arm, it was Cody who busted Brock’s face. Cody said he wants another shot at Lesnar.

While WWE didn’t promote Lesnar’s Raw appearance ahead of time, he was locally advertised in Baltimore and on WWE’s website on the events page. As we have reported previously, Lesnar was scheduled for the July 3rd, July 17th, and July 31st episodes of Raw prior to SummerSlam.

It is expected that Cody Rhodes will face Brock Lesnar one more time at SummerSlam on August 5th in Detroit. It will likely be a stipulation match with rumors that it could have a stipulation like a Bullrope Match or something else.
