Brock Lesnar Faces Backstage Heat Over Royal Rumble “Freak Out”

A new report has suggested that Brock Lesnar faced some heat backstage for his “freak out” that took place at the 2023 Royal Rumble.

Fightful Select reported that Brock Lesnar “gained a little heat” for his actions following his elimination from the men’s Royal Rumble at the hands of Bobby Lashley. An angry Lesnar went on a tear at ringside. throwing the steel ring stairs, generally wrecking the place, and shoving a referee over the ringside barrier.

It was noted that some at ringside didn’t know the stairs spot was coming with Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Pat McAfee at the commentary table scattering from the scene – although they are not named in the report. The moment where Lesnar threw a part of the announce table wasn’t planned either although a source did note that “a freak out was planned, and it’s Brock, so expect anything and everything.”

What seemed to get Lesnar heat, however, was when he forced referee Eddie Orengo over the ringside barrier in what was described as an “unplanned situation.” With Orengo having to sell his injury it was reported that he missed “an integral spot” near the end of the Rumble match.

A source reportedly noted that Lesnar likely won’t be in any serious trouble for the situation saying “heat is a relative term for Brock Lesnar. He’s not going to get in trouble. He’s certainly not going to be fired like Cryme Tyme was. It’s a new regime, new rules, and I’m not sure anyone involved was mad or not, but some people backstage were.”

It has previously been noted that Brock Lesnar is expected to be a part of the Elimination Chamber event in February although it is unlikely he will be part of the Chamber match itself.
