If Jon Jones really wants to fight Brock Lesnar in the UFC then the company will have to pay a significant amount of money for Lesnar to consider it.

Brock Lesnar is considered by many people to be one of the greatest combat sport athletes of all time. During his WWE career that started 21 years ago in 2002, Lesnar is a 10-time World Champion that has headlined the biggest shows all around the world. While obviously pro wrestling is a scripted form of entertainment, Lesnar is recognized as one of the best WWE superstars of all time.

During his collegiate wrestling career at the University of Minnesota, Lesnar was an NCAA Heavyweight Wrestling Champion. Lesnar didn’t pursue the Olympics because he went to WWE instead, but many people think he could have done well in the Olympics if he tried it.

In between his two runs in WWE, Lesnar became the UFC Heavyweight Champion in 2008 when he defeated the legendary Randy Couture in just his fourth MMA fight (third in UFC). Lesnar had two successful title defenses after that as well.

Lesnar’s UFC run lasted from 2008 to 2011, then he fought again in 2016 (while working for WWE), but the fight was deemed a no contest after he tested positive for clomiphene.

Jon Jones won the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 285 this past Saturday when he defeated Cyril Gane with a guillotine choke in just 2:04 of the first round.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ryan Frederick wrote about how Jones still wants a fight with Lesnar, who would want a staggering amount of money to take a fight like that.

“Jones was also bringing up Brock Lesnar’s name as the fight he still wants. I guess you can never say never, and I’m sure if Endeavor would match Lesnar’s asking price, he would do it, which is almost assuredly over the $10 million mark. As we saw with the Endeavor financial reports coming out, they can easily afford that and then some, and, in a prior era, that fight would’ve gotten done.”

While the 35-year-old Jones, who some people feel is the greatest UFC fighter ever, might want the Brock Lesnar fight, it’s unknown if Lesnar would ever want to fight in the UFC again since he is 45 years old.

Clearly, Brock Lesnar has made a lot of money in WWE and UFC, so he may not be interested in wanting a fight with a guy like Jones, who is at the top of his game.

As for Lesnar’s WWE future, he will face the 400+ pound Omos at WrestleMania 39. There have also been reports about Lesnar telling people in WWE he was “finishing up” which could be an indication that he might retire from pro wrestling soon too.
