Britt Baker’s AEW Problems Blown Way Out Of Proportion
After suggestions that Britt Baker could be done with AEW after causing too much drama, it seems that reports of her demise have been wildly overblown.
Britt Baker went on hiatus from AEW in September 2023 as a result of a back injury and during her absence, she suffered other health issues. The star wouldn’t return until June 2024, but talk of backstage problems quickly emerged.
Baker hasn’t wrestled since defeating Penelope Ford on November 13 2024. After the match, she was confronted by Serena Deeb and was repeatedly shown on camera saying “Nobody cares” as the star made her way onto the stage. Deeb later wore a t-shirt with the phrase and an arrow pointing to her face on the December 7 edition of Collision. But neither Baker nor Deeb have been seen since.
A report from Wade Keller suggested Baker could be done with AEW altogether. Keller claimed there’s a growing frustration with Baker from management as well as her fellow wrestlers, citing another incident after an altercation with MJF after Britt Baker allegedly badmouthed the former AEW World Champion in front of his girlfriend and AEW broadcaster Alicia Atout.
Keller suggested Baker had become “difficult to work with” and was “wildly unpopular in the locker room” but it seems suggestions Baker was done with AEW have been massively overblown.
Britt Baker Not Finished With AEW
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez took to social media to give more information on the story and noted that stories of Baker’s demise seem to have been blown out of all proportion:
From talking to multiple people within AEW, the Britt Baker stories all over the Internet today appear to be blown way out of proportion. She’s not being used and there don’t appear to be any imminent plans, but there’s nothing to her being finished with the company.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Alvarez followed up by noting that nobody in AEW has claimed Britt Baker won’t be back and that her contract with the company still has a while to run:
Obviously, Britt Baker is polarising, some people don’t like Britt. The idea that nobody in the locker room likes Britt is not true, I talked to a lot of people today. At the end of the day, she’s not being used right now, most people don’t know why and ultimately it’s Tony’s decision if she’s going to be used or not.
Nobody I talked to – and it’s a lot of people that talk to Tony – nobody said she’s not coming back. It’s not like she’s never going to be used again, her contract goes for quite a while, it’s just she’s not being used right now and that’s what the story is.
