Britt Baker Blasts Social Media Critics

Britt Baker wants to be left alone.

At Forbidden Door in June, Britt Baker made her AEW return, confronting Mercedes Mone who’d just beaten Stephanie Vaquer.

The appearance was Baker’s first since September 2023, following reports that the star was struggling with a back injury. Following her comeback Baker revealed she’d been diagnosed with two herniated disks and a torn hip labrum, before suffering a transient ischemic attack in late 2023.

Meanwhile, in October, Adam Cole confirmed he and Baker were no longer together, although he repeatedly stated they’re still friends.

Back in the ring, Baker has been criticised heavily on social media for her performances, and unsurprisingly she’s feeling the strain.

In a new interview with US Magazine looking back at her year, the star said she wants to be left alone.

“I’m exhausted. I’m not going to be polite anymore. Leave me alone. Politeness is 2024. Everyone needs to be real and authentic, and the world will be a better place,”

Britt Baker Reflects On “Brutal” Social Media Treatment

When it was put to Baker that her year had been a roller coaster, she agreed initially, but said at least with a roller coaster there’s a start and an end, and she can’t see an end in sight.

In response to the negativity online, Baker said she’d had to dig deep to try and rise above it.

“You can’t ever believe what you read about yourself, whether it’s really good or really bad, or you’re going to end up medicated and sedated potentially,” Baker continued. “It’s tough because we live in a world where social media is so prominent. Social media fuels what we do, essentially.

We rely on it. But man, is it toxic. It’s brutal. There’s a whole population of people on social media who just want to make you feel bad about yourself. It’s crazy we live in a world where that’s their mission. ‘I’m going to wake up today, tweet 10 mean tweets to Britt. I’m gonna take a lunch break. And then maybe I’ll do 10 more.’ It’s bizarre.”

Britt Baker was most recently in action on the November 13th edition of Dynamite where he overcame Penelope Ford.
