Bret Hart Set For WWE Showdown With Gunther

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart is returning to Monday Night Raw and it seems his plans for the show involve the red brand’s top star.

On September 9th, WWE will roll into the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for the “season premiere” of Monday Night Raw.

The show will feature the finals of the Intercontinental Title number one contender tournament and a huge Street Fight between the Wyatt Sicks and American Made. Meanwhile, Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair will defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles against former champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.

In a post on social media, Jackie Redmond announced that Bret Hart will be in attendance for Raw in his hometown. Triple H later reshared the post writing “You definitely don’t wanna miss this”:

I can officially confirm through some very legitimate sources that this Monday, on the season premiere of Monday Night Raw, Canadian legend Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart will be at the Saddledome in Calgary.

Bret Hart To Meet World Heavyweight Champion On WWE Raw?

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave an indication that The Hitman could be doing more than just watching on, noting that he believes Bret Hart is to be involved in a segment with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

Gunther is a wanted man as champion with another Canadian icon after a shot at his title. Sami Zayn has made clear he wants to challenge Gunther for the gold after defeating The Ring General at WrestleMania 40 for the Intercontinental Championship.
