Bret Hart Recounts Flying Cross-Country For Back-To-Back Matches

Bret Hart has revealed what he’d eliminate from modern wrestling.

Although his career as a wrestler essentially ended nearly 25 years ago, Bret Hart’s place in wrestling history is secure. The WWE Hall of Famer is known as one of the greatest wrestlers in history and continues to be praised for the realism in his matches.

Given his prowess, fans are always interested in hearing what he says about today’s biggest stars.

During a recent virtual signing for Signed By Superstars, Hart was asked what he thought about modern wrestling. He initially replied by saying that he couldn’t give a fair answer because it’s been so long since he watched anything, but one thing did come to mind.

“They need to ban the slap spots.”

During a 2023 interview, Bret Hart claimed he was “embarrassed” to be sat in the front row for WWE Clash at the Castle because of the repeated leg slapping.

Bret Hart Claims Legend’s Finisher Was Dangerous

During the same signing, Bret Hart recalled how much he hated taking Booker T’s Scissors Kick, branding it “really dangerous.” The Hitman added that between Booker’s kick, and Goldberg, he felt the pair were trying to kill him.

“Man, that’s a really dangerous move, that one (Bret said while looking at photo of Booker T doing Scissors Kick to him) … When he did that to me, it drove my head right into the mat… Between him and Goldberg, they were trying to kill me. That was a really dangerous move. I had to tell him stop. He couldn’t do it to me anymore. He (did it to) me two or three times and every time he did, drove my head right into the — almost right through the boards.”

With regard to Goldberg, he added that he doesn’t listen to him and doesn’t know that anyone does.
