Bret Hart Slams “Creepy” Vince McMahon

Bret Hart shouting at Vince McMahon

Bret Hart has lost all respect for Vince McMahon.

On January 25th a new lawsuit hit the news filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant which accused Vince McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking. After the sickening allegations went public McMahon resigned from the TKO Board of Directors but denies any wrongdoing.

The suit sent shockwaves across the wrestling world with several unnamed key WWE figures also implicated, while a series of disgusting text messages allegedly sent by McMahon also came to the fore.

Speaking in a new interview with Slate, Bret Hart discussed the allegations and explained how they’d forced him to change his opinion of McMahon. The WWE Hall of Famer began by saying that he doesn’t care about McMahon’s feelings as his former boss never cared about his, so he’s more than fine with the truth coming out.

Hart went on to describe one particular incident outlined in the lawsuit as “too sick and disgusting to really imagine,” adding that the text messages “sound like Vince.”

The former World Champion also warned that this was likely far from an isolated incident.

“I don’t think this is the only incident of this kind of predatory behavior,” Hart said. “I think you’ll find that it’s everywhere in [WWE].”

Hart went on to compare McMahon to other disgraced figures such as Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein.

“It’s like Jeffrey Dahmer, Harvey Weinstein, or Jeffrey Epstein: Vince will be a joke,” Hart said. “He’ll be used for humor, and you’ll shake your head at the shock value of some joke about, ‘What did Vince McMahon do?’ He’ll always be associated with this story, especially as it gets bigger and bigger and bigger.”

Bret Hart “Embarrassed” By Former Friendship With Vince McMahon

Reflecting on his own relationship with McMahon, Hart said that despite all of the difficulties down the years he always respected him. However, he says that’s now “tainted” and he’s “embarrassed that he thought so highly of him.”

Hart added he now has “zero respect” for his former boss.

“I think, despite all of the issues I ever had with Vince, I know, deep down, I always respected him; but now, knowing what kind of a weirdo he became, I have absolutely zero respect for him,. I do not think I could ever shake his hand if he extended it. Too creepy.”

Bret Hart hasn’t appeared on WWE television since being shown in the crowd at Clash At The Castle in 2022.
