Bret Hart Not Trolling With Vince McMahon Affair Allegations
Bret Hart is not trying to troll despite his comments about Vince McMahon, Shawn Michaels, and an alleged affair.
Bret Hart is never one to shy away from speaking his mind. The Hitman recently scolded a current WWE star over their in-ring work, and he’s never short of an opinion on Goldberg, the man who ended Hart’s in-ring career thanks to a dangerous kick to the head.
Bret Hart made headlines recently when he claimed Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon had a sexual affair, which is why McMahon made sure to keep him happy to the point of perpetrating the Montreal Screwjob in 1997.
Some thought Hart was just trolling with his comments, but it seems that might not be the case.
Bret Hart Tries Not To Make Controversial WWE Comments
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained why he doesn’t think Bret Hart was simply looking for attention with his comments, as another WWE Hall of Famer had claimed:
Jim Ross said it was bullsh*t. But he also said that Bret was just trolling and trying to go for attention, and I can tell you this. When Bret does stuff, he’s not looking for attention; he just speaks his mind, and there are reasons that he says what comes into his head.
Now, do I believe this? If I had a dollar for every time I was told that someone got a push based on having sex with a promoter, both men and women, I’d have a lot of money. In wrestling, people will reach that conclusion whether there’s something to it or not.
The thing I would say for sure is that Bret Hart is not looking to troll. He’s not one of these goofs from the past, and there are many who say anything just to get attention and to get people to respond. He’s told me himself that he tries not to say stuff about WWE because he gets a lot of heat when he does number one. And number two, he doesn’t want any residual heat on Nattie. As best I can tell, I don’t know that she gets any from this, but you never know. And with Vince [McMahon] there would always be this retribution, I don’t know if with [Paul] Levesque there would or wouldn’t be.
