Bret Hart Names The One Wrestler He’d Love To Face Again If He Could

Bret Hart Intercontinental Champion

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart has opened up about the one wrestler he’d most like to face again if he could return to his prime, none other than the late Curt Hennig, better known to fans as Mr. Perfect.

During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Bret Hart reflected on his storied career and revealed that Hennig would be his top choice for one more bout, with his brother Owen Hart also close to his heart.

“If I could pick one guy to have one more match with in our prime, it would be Curt,” Hart said. “I loved working with Curt; either Curt or Owen, they were the most fun to work with. Curt and Roddy were the two guys that helped launch me and get me up from sort of the middle of the card and made me a main event guy, I’ll never forget that. I loved working with Curt, and he had a lot to do with me going on to win the world title and stuff like that.”

Hart’s reverence for Hennig speaks volumes, particularly considering their iconic clash at SummerSlam 1991. That match, which saw Hart capture the Intercontinental Championship, remains a defining moment in both men’s legacies and is often cited as a technical masterpiece.

Which Former AEW Wrestler Said They Were More Skilled Than Bret Hart In A Certain Aspect Of Wrestling?

Former AEW star Joey Janella said that he is a better “carry job” wrestler than Bret Hart. Janella said that due to his matches with Marty Jannetty and Barry Horowitz when both were well past their prime and suffering from multiple injuries, this makes him the best “carry job wrestler” of all time, even better than Hart. However, Janella clarified that while he thinks he is better at this aspect of wrestling than Hart, he does not think he is a better wrestler overall than Hart.
