Bret Hart Pulls Out of Convention Also Featuring Goldberg

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart has pulled out of a major event.

Bret Hart was supposed to make an appearance at The Big Event on November 15, 2025, in Brentwood, New York, which will also feature other wrestling icons, like Goldberg.

Fans were eagerly anticipating his appearance at the convention. Unfortunately, The Hitman recently announced his withdrawal from the event, disappointing many fans who wanted to see him in person.​

Bret Hart Has Personal Reasons For Canceling The Big Event Appearance

The reason Bret Hart gave for pulling out was due to “unexpected and unavoidable commitments at home.” In his official statement released through Wrestling with Character LIVE on Facebook, he expressed how much it pained him to reschedule his northeastern United States appearances. He mentioned that personal matters prevented him from attending these dates, but he hopes to reconnect with his fans on the East Coast in the spring of 2026.

Hart wrote, “It pains me, but I’m going I have to reschedule my northeastern United States dates this November, a combination of unexpected and unavoidable commitments at home have left me unable to attend. I hope to see all my fans on the east coast this coming spring!”

While the official reason focuses on personal commitments, some fans and insiders speculate that his decision might also be influenced by his long-standing animosity with Goldberg, who was also advertised for the same event. Hart has historically been critical of Goldberg due to a career-ending concussion caused by a kick from Goldberg in 1999, and the two have never publicly reconciled.​

The event organizers expressed understanding for fans’ disappointment but promised an unforgettable experience, nonetheless. Despite Bret Hart’s absence, The Big Event is still set to be a major gathering for wrestling fans, with appearances from other notable personalities like Killer Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux, The Mountie, Dijak, and former WWE Women’s Champion Mercedes Martinez.
