Bray Wyatt’s First Opponent Teased On SmackDown
Following the return of Bray Wyatt to WWE, it looks like he has found his first opponent after a run-in on Friday Night SmackDown.
On SmackDown in Indianapolis, the WWE World Cup kicked off – just a matter of days before the FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar. Two first-round matches took place on the show with Santos Escobar overcoming Shinsuke Nakamura while Braun Strowman advanced at the expense of Jinder Mahal.
One star not involved in the brackets for the tournament is the recently rebranded LA Knight. Knight was expressing his displeasure at the snub in a backstage interview on SmackDown when Bray Wyatt’s logo appeared on a television behind him. Knight told the crew to “turn this trash off” before he found himself face-to-face with Wyatt himself, with Bray Wyatt saying:
“I know we haven’t met, my name is Bray,” Wyatt told Knight. “So now we can be friends, right? I think I understand you, I can see all that anger and rage brewing inside you. Me too, man! My whole life, people have been telling me that my rage was going to make a monster out of me. For the longest time, I’ve been pretending that I’m not proud of the things that I do. I don’t know how true that is anymore [laughs]. I know what it takes to give respect, and I’m asking you: how far are you willing to go?”
LA Knight wasn’t in the mood to listen to Wyatt as he responded:
“How far I’m willing to go ain’t none of your damn business. How far you’re willing to go should be back to your romper room, play with your little puppets, stick them anywhere they give you pleasure – it’s okay with me. But, end of the day, if nobody asked you – who’s game is it? It’s LA Knight’s game.”
As a result, Wyatt levelled Knight with a headbutt to end the segment, with many now believing the two men are on a collision course to meet in the ring – possibly at Survivor Series.
Bray Wyatt last competed in WWE at WrestleMania 37 in April 2021 when he was defeated by Randy Orton.
