Update On Bray Wyatt’s WWE Absence

Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt has been away from WWE TV for a long time and there is an update on what’s going on with the former WWE Champion.

When Bray Wyatt returned to WWE in October 2022 at Extreme Rules after being released over one year earlier, there was a lot of excitement about what he was going to do following his return. Nearly one year later, Wyatt has only wrestled one match on television since then.

That one televised match that Bray Wyatt wrestled was at the 2023 Royal Rumble in a Pitch Black Match against LA Knight. Wyatt won that match easily, yet if you watch the current WWE product, it is LA Knight who is clearly on the rise as a featured performer in the company. Wyatt did wrestle at live events since then, but not on television.

Prior to WrestleMania 39, WWE had started a storyline between Bobby Lashley and Bray Wyatt. There were a few segments between, but then as WrestleMania got closer, it was taken off the card due to some illness that Wyatt was dealing with.

In an update on Bray Wyatt’s WWE status, Fightful Select reports that he is still not cleared to return.

The story from Fightful notes that a WWE higher-up confirmed that Wyatt was still sidelined while awaiting clearance to return. Wyatt is hopeful for a return to the ring whenever he is cleared to do so.

Bray Wyatt’s WWE return storyline also involved Uncle Howdy, who was a masked character that was played by Bo Dallas, who is Wyatt’s real-life brother. There hasn’t been any sign of Uncle Howdy since Wyatt has been off television.

There were also rumors that WWE would have Alexa Bliss be associated with Bray Wyatt as she has been in the past, but Bliss is pregnant and on maternity leave for the rest of 2023 as well as the early part of 2024.

All of this means is if you’re awaiting Bray Wyatt’s return, sadly, there’s no confirmed timeline for when he might be back.
