New Match Type Reportedly Pitched For Bray Wyatt At Royal Rumble 2023

A new match type may be coming to the Royal Rumble involving Bray Wyatt, according to a report.

Bray Wyatt made his triumphant return to WWE at Extreme Rules after a lot of anticipation that included a “white rabbit” system of clues that had fans guessing and thinking it was Wyatt, but until it happened you didn’t really know.

Since Extreme Rules, Wyatt has talked about trying to move on from his past and be a better person that isn’t always about violence like he was in the past. Wyatt has also had a storyline that started with LA Knight earlier this month, which could lead to Wyatt’s first WWE match since he returned after being released in the summer of 2021.

The next WWE Premium Live Event is the Royal Rumble, which is on Saturday, January 28th in San Antonio. According to WrestlingNewsCo, there was a pitch made for a “Pitch Black” match that was seriously being considered for the Royal Rumble PLE.

There are no details yet about the structure or rules of the match, but a source in WWE believes that the match will feature Bray Wyatt.

It was added in the report that WWE is being careful to not overexpose Wyatt so that when he wrestles, it will feel like a special moment.
