Bray Wyatt Told Ex-WWE Star She Was Considered For Sister Abigail

Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt and WWE considered using Shelly Martinez in the role of Sister Abigail.

The wrestling world was shaken to its core on 24th August 2023 when it was revealed that Bray Wyatt had sadly passed away. He was just 36 years old.

The third-generation Superstar was a former WWE Champion and two-time Universal Champion and preparing for a return before his untimely passing due to a heart attack.

Wyatt made his name as the leader of the ominous Wyatt Family faction. The group originally debuted in Florida Championship Wrestling before rising to prominence during their stint in NXT.

The group consisted of Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erik Rowan and latterly, Braun Strowman whilst the aura of a mysterious character named Sister Abigail was always teased. Many wondered if Abigail was simply a creation of Wyatt’s twisted mind, it appears that as far back as the groups creation there was consideration for the character to be portrayed on WWE television.

During a recent appearance on Ring The Belle, former WWE Superstar Shelly Martinez revealed that Wyatt had informed her that she was under consideration for the role.

Martinez is likely best known for a stint as Ariel alongside Kevin Thorne in the relaunched ECW in 2006/2007, although she was performing as one of Adam Rose’ Rosebuds at a WWE Live Event years later when Bray Wyatt revealed the news:

“I was so intrigued by Bray Wyatt, of course. I can’t even remember what year it was. Maybe 2014 or 2015. And I’m not here to whatever, This is what he told me.

He was like, ‘you know they’ve thrown your name around about being Sister Abigail.’ He’s like, ‘I’m a big fan of what you and Kevin used to do.’ And he started marking out for me. And I was like, you’re marking out for me. And so I was like, whoa, that’s crazy.”

Bray Wyatt Hand-Picked Wyatt Sicks Members

Although no longer with us, Bray Wyatt’s legacy continues to live on through the Wyatt Sicks faction.

The group features Wyatt’s brother Bo Dallas in the role of Uncle Howdy whilst also featured Erick Rowan, Nikki Cross, Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy.

Bo Dallas recently revealed that Bray Wyatt chose the members of the Wyatt Sicks. Dallas explained that the former WWE Champion saw something in each member of the group and hand selected them personally.
