Brand New WWE Title Gets Inaugural Champion

Triple H reveals new WWE Title

A brand new title in WWE now has its first-ever champion after one star picked up a big win when the company aired SmackDown from Nashville.

The WWE’s women’s division recently had just five titles they could compete for with Liv Morgan, Nia Jax, Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, Roxanne Perez, and Kelani Jordan all holding gold. But that changed following SmackDown in Nashville with a match taped that will air in the future which means spoilers lay ahead.

In August, Triple H announced a new women’s title coming to WWE with the introduction of the Women’s Speed Championship. A tournament began on September 4th with matches airing exclusively on X/Twitter to crown the inaugural champion.

Lyra Valkyria, IYO SKY, Blair Davenport, Naomi, Elektra Lopez, Kairi Sane, Candice LeRae, and Piper Niven were all part of the tournament and now fans know the winner.

The final of the tournament was taped after SmackDown and will air on October 11th. That match saw former WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY take on Candice LeRae with LeRae picking up the win and the championship. This is LeRae’s first title win since joining WWE’s main roster and she previously held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Title with Indi Hartwell.
