Booker T Tips Surprising WWE Star To Become World Champion
Booker T has gone big for his latest prediction.
Despite being told that his contract wouldn’t be renewed and seemingly allowed to walk away from the company, the artist formerly known as R-Truth is back with WWE, and back with a purpose.
Just six days on from announcing he was leaving the sports entertainment giant, the star was back to cost John Cena and Logan Paul victory at Money In The Bank.
Two days later on Raw, R-Truth cut a fired-up promo telling fans that the truth had set him free and from now on he would be known as Ron Killings, and he was here to get the respect he deserved.
Killings only returned to WWE following significant backlash from fans, this is despite Triple H claiming that his exit and return were part of the show.
Booker T Makes Bold Prediction
On the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T gave his thoughts on the wild situation surrounding Killings and what might come next. According to the NXT announcer, that something next could be a World Championship.
“You know what I see? I see Ron Killings winning the World Heavyweight Championship,”
Booker went on to suggest that a World Title win for Killings would be the biggest moment since Mick Foley became World Champion for the first time in January 1999. On that now infamous night, WCW announcer Tony Schiavone quipped “That’s gonna put some butts in the seats,” regarding the end of Raw as the show had been taped in advance.
Although the remark was meant as a slight from WCW management, thousands of fans switched from Nitro to Raw to see Foley win.
“How crazy would that be? You know what? It would shake up the whole world. It’ll be the biggest thing since, you know, perhaps putting the title on Mick Foley, WCW, that night, you know, when everybody changed the channels to watch Mick Foley win… It could be unbelievable.”
Killings hasn’t been World Champion since becoming the first Black wrestler to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship back in August 2002 while with TNA.
