Booker T has come to the defence of one of NXT’s finest.

In the eyes of many observers, Roxanne Perez is heading to the top of the wrestling industry. The star began training when she was 16 under the tutelage of Booker T before becoming Ring of Honor Women’s Champion.

Despite being just 22 years of age, Perez is considered one of the most promising female stars in WWE, while enjoying her second run with the NXT Women’s Title.

While many expect Perez to become one of the faces of WWE in the not-too-distant future, Bully Ray recently claimed she should remain in NXT suggesting she might not be ready for the main roster.

Unsurprisingly, those comments have gone unnoticed by her former trainer and current NXT announcer Booker T.

Booker T Hits Back At WWE Hall Of Famer

During an episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker came out firing, claiming Bully Ray doesn’t know what he’s talking about. To further twist the knife he said he doesn’t see any of the veteran’s students “doing anything” while Perez is finding success in WWE.

“I like Bubba Ray, but he don’t know what the hell he’s talking about. Roxanne Perez is definitely one of the best in the WWE right now; she is just that good, and she came through my wrestling school. I don’t see none of Bubba Ray’s students out there doing nothing, I’m just saying.”

Roxanne Perez, along with several other NXT stars featured on the August 16th episode of SmackDown. The young star was shown in the front row during the match between Blair Davenport and Naomi.

Perez is scheduled to defend her Women’s Title against Jaida Parker at NXT No Mercy.
